  4th Grade Social Studies Project: South Boston Citizens’ Association Evacuation Day Poster Posters are due to Ms. Granstrand by Friday, March 10, 2017. The Poster Competition’s theme is “The Revolutionary War in Boston.” Students will create a poster teaching about one of the historical sites from the Revolutionary War in and around Boston, MA. Topic choices are: ● Boston Tea Party ● Boston Massacre ● Henry Knox and the Noble Train of Artillery  Category Level 4 Level 3 Level 2 Level 1 Name (10 points) Fourth grader’s name is neatly and clearly written Name is written in less than the student’s best handwriting. It is difficult to read who made the poster. The poster has no name. Poster Size (10 points) Larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches About 8 ½ in by 11 inches Smaller than 8 by 11 inches _________ Heading (10 points) The heading neatly and clearly names the historical event your poster teaches about. The heading has the name of the an event. The heading is difficult to locate on the poster. There is no heading. Planning/ Neatness (20 points) The poster looks like it was clearly planned out. All items are securely attached to the poster. All the information and artwork fits on the poster. There are some pictures or papers falling off the poster. The poster appears to be done last minute. Please choose between one of the options below. Each option will be graded on the due date. All options will go towards the Term 3 Report Card. Option 1:  Complete the “Revolutionary War in Boston” poster project and hand in on or before Friday, March 10th. (Directions on the back of this paper.) This project will be a test grade. Your poster will be included in the South Boston Citizens Association contest and will compete for prizes and participation in an award ceremony. Option 2:  Complete a similar poster project on the Southeast region due Friday, March 17th. This project will be a test grade. Directions will be assigned to you if you choose this option. Option 3:  Do both the “Revolutionary War in Boston” poster (due 3/10) and the “Southeast Region” poster (due 3/17). Submit one to be graded in your test grade. Submit the other poster as Extra Credit to be added to your test grade.
