'n this pro2ect, various groundater potential 3ones for the assessment of groundater availa0ility at Hosur Talu1 , 4rishnagiri District have 0een delineated usingremote sensing and 'S techni5ues. Survey of 'ndia toposheets , 6'SS '7 imageries are usedto prepare various thematic map layers vi3. lithology, slope, landuse, lineament, drainage,soil, and rainfall ere transformed to raster data using feature to raster converter tool inArc'S. The raster maps of these factors are allocated a fi+ed score and eight computedfrom eightage overlay analysis. Moreover, each eighted thematic layer is statisticallycomputed to get the groundater potential 3ones. The ground ater potential 3ones thuso0tained ere divided in to four categories, vi3., poor, moderate, good, very good, e+cellent3ones.
