Family Ministry letter
There is a story about four clergymen who were discussing the merits of the various translations of the Bible. One liked the King James Version best because of its simple, beautiful English. Another liked the American Revised Version best because it is more literal and comes nearer the srcinal Hebrew and Greek. Still another liked the Moffatt’s translation best because of its up -to-date vocabulary. The fourth minister was silent. When asked to express his opinion, he replied, “I like my mother’s translation best. She translated it into life, and it was the most convincing translation I ever saw.”    ---Christian Digest--- Dear Friends in Christ, Sometimes the task of writing up newsletters is not so easy and many times I find myself with the struggle of what to say. At those moments, I am gently reminded by God that my fingers simply speak for God. I only have to share what He has placed on my heart and my hope is that you find comfort and encouragement in what the Lord has to share through me. I have been constantly amazed at how the Lord uses each one of us in His work. Our responsibility is to live out Christ in ALL that we do, even the simplest of things. Daily living, putting life application to my faith is what God uses the most in me. I am not eloquent of speech nor do I have a great voice, yet God uses me. He uses me to touch the lives of the students here at the Bible School and in my own family. When Andy and I first started working at the Bible School, I was rather intimidated by all the academics and knowledge of the Bible that the staff and students had. I felt very under qualified to be here, even though I have been through all the same classes (many years ago). But the more I connected with the students and the staff the more I realized that God simply wanted me to live my life in honoring Him. In doing so, I was living out my faith. As the students take in loads of theological knowledge I see them wrestling out their faith. Many students come and chat with me during my quiet library hours and I LOVE THAT! Sometimes I have nothing to say and sit in amazement at their knowledge of God ’ s word, and other times the Lord lays upon my heart some form of counsel and guidance. Other times I simply sit and cry with them. The best part is when God uses their young, fresh faith to encourage me in the “ Race that He has set before me ” . All this to say: We love where the Lord has placed us and we are thrilled to be a part of bringing people closer to God through the study of His Word and through our messy life example! Thank you for sharing this journey with us and for lifting us up in prayer as we live out our faith walk. Living Life, Gina Templeton (Andy also) March 2017
